Conference Finals Predictions

So... I forgot to post my picks for last round, but I went a terrible 1/4.  The only series I called correctly was Rangers over Caps.  This round, hopefully I do better.

Phoenix over Los Angeles
New York over New Jersey.

Probably both in 7 games.

Edit: If LA and NY win there will be too much confusion between NY's Brad Richards and LA's Brad Richardson. Not to mention Brad and Mike Richards. So please, everyone root for NY and Phoenix.

Below you can see why.

While the Kings have dominated the #1 and #2 teams in the West so far, I think the surprising Coyotes are going to surprise again.  Mike Smith and Jonathon Quick have both been Phenomenal, no question.  The Kings seem to have finally found their chemistry and are controlling games, but I think the Coyotes are just too unpredictable.  A lot of players for Phoenix have come up big and have come up consistently big.  Both teams really need to figure out how to score on the opposing goalie.  This is really anyone's series as both teams have been a surprise, but the Coyotes have got to want it more, if just for Shane Doan.

The Devils are better offensively, but the Rangers defense and goaltending take the series.  I fully expect the same series as the first two Rangers' series.  Henrik Lundqvist plays incredibly well against the Devils with these stunning stats: 23-6-5, 1.73 goals-against average, .935 save percentage, plus five shutouts in the regular season.  The Devils won't give up without a fight and they love to fight the Rangers.  But in the end, I think this is the Rangers' year. Especially at this point - looking at who is left.
